Mustangs win at NHTI

Loudon, NH - In their first event in over a decade, the Mustangs Golf Team won the first event of the YSCC Golf season hosted by New Hampshire Technical Institute at Loudon Country Club. With a team score of 350, the Mustangs edged Great Bay by six shots. Team medalist was Sam Laroche with a score of 84, Cam Knowles carded an 85, Wyatt Smith carded a 95, Will Fletcher turned in 99, and Mason Beaudoin helped the team win with an 86. Both Laroche and Beaudoin firing an 84 and 86 from the three and five spots respectively, was the key to success.

First year head coach, Shaun McKinnon shared, "I am so proud of how our team competed today at a very challenging course and for our first event in over a decade. Our team never gave up throughout the entire 6-hour round. Golf is game that can be very mentally draining and I'm so proud of how mentally tough our team was. Sam and Mason fought all day and at the end their scores were the difference. It was a pleasure to watch the team compete in the first event of the season. I know some of the team did not play up to their expectations, but they played with grit and never gave up which is most important."

The Mustangs travel back down to Loudon Country Club next weekend on September 10th and look to build off the tournament win.
