Auburn, ME – Head Men's Basketball Coach, Dave Gonyea, is pleased to announce the commitment of Tobias Jense, a 6'10" center from Amsterdam, Netherlands. A graduate of Sint Nicolass Lyceum, Tobias is the first Dutch player for the men's program.

Coach Gonyea explains, "Tobias visited for a few days and we could tell early on it just clicked. He is a big, loveable guy, who wants to play the game in America and get better. I see great growth coming in his game with specialized instruction from our big man coaches. Off the court, he is a respectful, kind person, and wants to fit in. He will be in our Liberal Studies program seeking to transfer into a four-year institution in the future. We are very happy he is a Mustang."

Tobias answered the questions below:

CM: Why did you choose CM?
Tobias: I chose CM because the first time I talked to coach it felt right. Then when I talked to all the players, everyone was honest and it just felt right to commit to CM. The thing that attracted me the most is the brotherhood that players make.

CM: What did you like most about the campus?
Tobias: I liked that the court is accessible 24/7. And that everyone I spoke to and met is friendly and nice to me.

CM: How do you think playing college basketball will differ from your previous experience
Tobias: It will be a lot faster paced and physical. A lot more games as well.

CM: What are you most looking forward to about attending and playing basketball at CM?
Tobias: Just getting better and getting my degree. It is a one in a lifetime opportunity to play in America and get a degree. So I want to make the most of it.

CM: What do you think you can bring to the team next year?
Tobias: Height, determination, passion and leadership. Keeping the team focused during games

CM:  Describe your basketball experience.
Tobias: Very short. Have only played 2 years but both years I played on one of the highest levels. And in those 2 years I learned a tremendous amount and was fortunate enough to train with players and trainer with a lot of experience

CM: What is your biggest strength in basketball?
Tobias: My size and weight. I make tough to guard inside.
