Concord, NH - In the opening round of the Yankee Conference Tournament, CM found themselves in a tighter game than they may have expected.  Plagued by turnovers and poor shooting (22% from 3FG & 44% from FT), the Lady Mustangs were only leading Eastern Maine CC by 9 with 10-minutes to go in the game, after leading by as many as 21 points.

The CM bench stepped up, outscoring the EMCC bench, 44-1.  Kat Styles (Franklin, NH) tallied a team-high 14 points on 7-9 shooting.  Briana Grant (Searsport, ME), Gabby Foy (Wilton, ME), and Laura Soohey (Bremen, ME) scored 13 points apiece.

Soohey also recorded 12 rebounds, for yet another double-double.  Macy Welch (North Anson, ME) flirted with her own double-double, finishing with 11 points and 9 rebounds.  Welch and Soohey helped CM outscore EMCC in the paint by a 40-16 margin.

Jordan Maxwell scored a game-high 16 points for EMCC.

With the win, CM improved their record to 19-5 overall.  The Lady Mustangs advance to the Yankee Conference Tournament Semifinals, where they will take on the #3 seed in the tournament, Southern Maine CC.  The game will take place this Saturday at 2:00pm.
