Uniontown, PA - It was important for the Lady Mustangs to jump out to a quick lead Thursday night, and they did just that - outscoring the host, PSU Fayette, 25-2 in the first quarter on their way to a record setting 109-51 win. CM posted USCAA DII National Tournament records for points in a game and broke their own previous record for assists in a game (26) with 30. Of the 13 girls who suited up for the game, all of them played at least 12-minutes, with 12 of them finding the scoring column.
All-American, Brooke Reynolds, shot 11-13 from the floor finishing with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Jordyn Reynolds tacked on 18 points to go along with 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 assists, and 3 steals. The CM bench scored 63 points led by a trio of players in double figures. Jane Lester tallied 16 points and 8 rebounds, while Ashley Russell scored a career-high 13 points. Cagney O'Brien finished with a tremendous stat line of 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Overall the Lady Mustangs shot 56.3% from the floor while out-rebounding Fayette, 56-29.
Haley Moreland led the host with 21 points on 8-22 shooting.
With the win CM improves to 29-1 on the season and advance to the USCAA National Semifinal game Friday night at 9:00pm. The Lady Mustangs will take on PSUAC Tournament Champion, Penn State Brandywine.
