After thumping the University of New Brunswick - St. John in the opening game of the Can-Am Tournament Saturday, by a 109-70 score, CM played a tough St Thomas University squad this afternoon at Kirk Hall and came away with a 74-64 win.
The Mustangs used 40-minutes of full-court pressure to wear down the traveling Tommies. Out played and out scored at the half (37-29) by the visitors, the Mustangs came out of the locker room fired up and took a five point lead at the 10-minute mark in the second half. Preston Isner hit back to back three's leading the comeback. Xavier Colbert and Jeremy Suero led the home team hitting for 14 points a piece. Kazre Cummings added 13 points and Isner hit for 11 while pulling down a team-high 7 rebounds.
CM hosts Navy Prep this Friday night (7:00pm) and Quinsigamond Community College Saturday (3:00pm).
