A lackluster effort on the defensive end and poor shooting contributed to a 73-61 setback tonight to the Owls of the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
CM couldn't never get traction, falling behind early and playing catch up all game. It appeared the Mustangs didn't get off the bus until the second half—falling behind 37-27 at the break. A little more energy allowed CM to take a brief two point lead early in the second half but it was quickly erased by another one of CM's 19 turnovers.
Kazre Cummings (Warwick, RI) was the lone bright spot for CM recording a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
CM looks to rebound with a marquee matchup Wednesday at rival SMCC in South Portland.
