The Knights of Vermont Tech advanced to the semifinal round of the Yankee College Tournament today as they slipped by CM, 72-70. CM led most of the contest behind Carrington Miller's (Bingham, ME) 20 points and 8 rebounds and solid performances by Xavier Colbert (Manassas, VA) –5-8 shooting with 5 rebounds and Tim Flanagan (Providence, RI)—4-7 shooting with 4 assists.
CM led at the break by a 40-33 score.
VTC tied the game up 70-70 in the last 28 seconds on the clock. Two VTC free throws gave the Knights a two point lead 72-70. CM ran a last minute play and got three shots at the basket in the last 5 seconds but couldn't convert.
The Mustangs finish the season 13-12 overall and 9-6 in the Yankee conference.
