Johnson State wrapped up its season with a 12-10 win over Central Maine Community College Sunday afternoon at Minaert Field. The Badgers end the year at 3-9 overall and 2-6 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) while the Mustangs slide to 0-7 on the year and 0-2 in Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) play.

Johnson honored its seniors Maxxwell Connolly, Zach Jerome and Chandler Halbur. During Connolly's four years with the Badgers, he appeared in 46 games in which he scooped up an impressive 243 groundballs proving to be invaluable to the Badgers' possession game. In 43 appearances, Halbur netted four goals and supplied two helpers giving the Badgers a boost offensively while Jerome played in 44 games for JSC starting out on the field but transitioning to goalie. While in net, Jerome made 271 saves and has five wins to his name.

The Badgers' winning effort was fueled by freshman Andrew Neddo (Barre, Vt. / Spaulding) and sophomore Jacob Eustis (Cumberland, Maine) who each potted four goals for Johnson while Randy Strand (Flanders, N.J. / Roxbury) supplied three goals and scooped up two groundballs. Taner Cross (East Montpelier, Vt. / U-32) helped secure the win with one goal and two assists. 

For the Mustangs, Erik and Brandon Tiner (Lewiston, Maine) lead the offense netting three goals and one assist a piece. Ryan Lemelin (Lewiston, Maine) put two goals on the board while Nick Record (Oxford, Maine) and Brandon Sevit (Auburn, Maine) each tallied one. 

CMCC built a 2-0 lead two minutes in after goals from B. Tiner and Record. With 11 minutes left in the first quarter though, Johnson's Strand fired back finding the back of the net and putting Johnson on the board. CMCC's Lemlin answered quickly bringing the tally to 3-1, Central Maine's advantage. After goals from Neddo and Eustis, the Badgers had tied the game at 3-3 with a full seven minutes left in the opening stanza. The period ended with the Badgers ahead 5-3.

The second period was relatively quiet after three quick goals from CMCC's Lemelin and E. Tiner and one from Johnson's Strand. The teams headed into the half with Johnson up by one with a score of 6-5. The third and fourth quarters saw much more of the same back and forth as the first half, with the Mustang's tying it up two more times at 6-6 and 9-9. Ultimately though, their efforts could not outlast the Badger's offense as the game ended 12-10, giving the Badgers a win in the last game of the season.

Both teams concluded their seasons after today's non-conference tilt.
