Auburn, ME - For the last 25 years the CM Mustang Sports Hall of Fame has inducted only student-athletes who have been selected as NSCAA/USCAA All Americans. We have updated the criteria and selection process effective immediately.
Going forth, nominations will be accepted for induction not only for student-athletes but coaches, administrators, and special supporters of the program.
According to CM Athletic Director, Dave Gonyea, "Changing the Hall of Fame process has been a topic of discussion for a long time. We just needed to figure out the best way to move forward. I am pleased we are opening the hall of fame to others besides the student-athletes, and creating a nomination process that will be able to recognize all that deserve it. We have relied on a cadre of people over the years whose contributions need to be recognized. The new process will allow us to address other anyone who has made a significant impact on our athletic program."
The selection committee will consist of the athletic director, sports information director, one present coach, one present faculty member, and one alum. Nomination forms are on the Central Maine website and anyone may submit a nomination form. Criteria, process, instructions, and details are available on the site.
