Poland, ME – The Central Maine golf team took third place in their first action of the season at the CMCC Invitational held at Fairlawn Golf & Country Club Saturday afternoon.

Bryson Mattox led the way for the Mustangs with a team-best 86, while Brady Kilby shot a 90, and Logan Carpenter carded a 99 in the three best scores format, giving them a total of 275. Lukas Sargolini and Zach Jones, both also members of the CMCC hockey team, participated as well.

Southern Maine CC captured the title in the four school competition, with golfer Quinn Dillon also taking the individual crown with a round low of 74, finishing one stroke ahead of UMaine-Augusta's Ryan Lai who finished with a 75. The Moose took second place overall with Kennebec Valley Community College rounding out the standings in fourth.

CMCC gets back on the links Sunday afternoon when they travel to Purpoodock Golf Club in Cape Elizabeth, ME for the SMCC Invitational at 12:30 pm.
