Golf Takes 4th at SMCC Invitational

Cape Elizabeth, MEBryson Mattox carded a team-best score of 88 as the Central Maine Community College Golf team placed fourth at the SMCC Invitational held at Purpoodock Golf Club on Sunday afternoon.

CMCC finished with a total of 273 in the best three scores team format from Mattox's 88, and a score of 90 and 95 for Brady Kilby and Logan Carpenter respectively. Mattox place 10th individually, with Kilby's score leaving him tied for 13th, and Carpenter finishing 17th in the field of 28 golfers.

The SMCC White squad took the event with a total of 237, ten shots ahead of UMaine-Farmington. SMCC Blue placed third, with Paul Smith's College, NHTI, and Great Bay CC rounding out the field. Individually, Owen Lee (77) took first place for SMCC narrowly edging out teammate Quinn Dillon (78) and UMF's Neil LaRochelle (80).

Central Maine returns to Purpoodock on Thursday, September 26th for another meet hosted by SMCC. First tee time is slated for 1:30 pm.
