Mustangs Impress at Fitchburg State

Fitchburg, MA - CM competed at Fitchburg State in their first outdoor track and field meet over the weekend and came away with impressive performances all around.

Throwers were the focus to start and end the day for the mustangs and looks to be the depth of their roster this season.  Lucas Neudecker started the day in the first flight of shot put and discus and had impressive throws for his first collegiate track meet.  Lucas looks to have a big day next week when the Mustangs attend the St. Joes' Monks Invitational.

Jared Martin had a standout day with shot put, narrowly missing the finals with a 10th place finish, out of 41 throwers.  Jared had strong showing in hammer placing 19th with a 29.5m throw in his first time competing in the event.

Richard Thompson threw well in shot put and hammer but had his most throw in discus with a 28.32m toss on his final attempt and 27th overall.

Viktor Tripp improved in the 1500m with a time of 4 minutes and 52 seconds and followed up with a very strategic push in the 800m as he looks to peak in a few weeks.

Coach McDonald was impressed by the commitment and attitude these athletes have exhibited so far and feels the team is poised for a strong season.
