Mustangs Compete at USCAA Nationals

Springfield, MA - Central Maine's track and field teams had a strong showing at the 2023 USCAA National invitational.  Sean Wedgewood started the action for the Mustangs  on Friday, taking home all American honors and placing 2nd in pole vault.  Sean is already motivated and looking to next year as he returns to the mustangs.

Central Maine throwers stepped up with Jared Martin, Richard Thompson and Lucas Neudecker all qualifying for the day.  Martin had his most impressive all around performance of the season.  Jared placed 3rd nationally in shot put and additionally became the YSCC shot put Champion.  Jared also finished 4th in discus and sixth in hammer throw nationally, and both throws placed 2nd in the conference.

Viktor Tripp ended his remarkable season with another personal best in both the 1500m and 800m.  Both races Viktor placed 2nd in the YSCC conference.  The Mustangs placed 4th in the conference as a team powered by Martin, Tripp and Wedgewood. 

Moran 3x conference champion

Ja'Naia Moran had a stellar performance over the weekend at the USCAA National Invitational. Moran took home the conference championship in three events and single handedly placed 4th for the women's team. Her 100m, 200m and long jump all placed her in the top 6 nationally.  Moran was a very strong competitor all day in a strong field of athletes.
