CM Scores With Top Recruit

Auburn, ME - Jordy Knoren, a 2012 graduate of Sint Joris College Eindhoven, the Netherlands, has committed to play hockey for the Mustangs next year.  This is the second major recruit for Coach Cady!

Why did you choose CMCC?
Because Coach Kevin Cady came to talk to me about CMCC. It sounded very good to me So I went to visit the school and it was very heart warming and professional. I had a few more conversations with Coach Cady and decided to play for CMCC next year!

What did you like most about the campus?
It was very nice and clean it looked like a great place to come and study.  There was a lot of extra tutoring so if you need help with any class you can go visit certain people.  The Flags from all nationalities of the students they have studying at campus; it was a great thing to see, it makes you feel your nationality is appreciated.

How do you think playing college hockey will differ from your previous experience?
I feel like college hockey will be a lot more physical and faster paced hockey then my previous years. I feel like it also will be a more professional environment then junior and youth hockey.

What are you most looking forward to about attending and playing hockey at CMCC?
I am looking forward to having a great season and the home games with hopefully a lot of attendance!  Also looking forward to being in a great environment with a fun but successful year of hockey.

What do you think you can bring to the team next year?
I feel like I can bring my leadership and playmaking ability to the team. I work hard on and off the ice. I am very good at winning face-offs for the team.

According to CM Men's Hockey Coach, Kevin Cady, "Jordy brings a wealth of international competition at the elite level and junior level in the U.S. to CM.  He is a skilled center who is tough to beat in the face off and plays well at both ends of the ice.  We are counting on Jordy for his skilled play on the ice and leadership in the dressing room. We are extremely fortunate to add Jordy to our fledgling roster"
