Mustangs Adds Former Maine Wild Player

Auburn, ME - Dylan Farrell Reny, a 2014 graduate from South Portland High School has committed to play hockey at CM next year.  He is a 5'10' power player who recently played junior hockey for the Maine Wild (Biddeford).

Why did you choose CM?

I found very high interest into this upcoming hockey program and had reached out to Coach Kevin Cady. I also really have a high interest in Physical Fitness and CM offered that program so why not?

What did you like most about the campus?

The campus itself is amazing, but the faculty there is incredible. President Knapp, AD Gonyea, Coach Cady and Joey from admissions have been amazingly kind and helpful. So I can't wait to become a MUSTANG.

How do you think playing college hockey will differ from your previous experience?

College hockey will be a big jump in my career for sure, but the aspect of playing not just for your teammates but a program/school is even greater then something personal. I'm a huge team player and can't wait to meet the boys!!!

What are you most looking forward to about attending and playing hockey at CM?

Meeting the boys and becoming a MUSTANG.

What do you think you can bring to the team next year?

A leadership that all the boys can rely on, but more importantly HEART!!! I'll do whatever it takes. Also my physical aspect to the game is hard to beat. I hit hard, block shots, go in the corners, back check well, and I'm very strong on my feet so it will be hard for opponents to move me from in front of the net.

According to Coach Cady, "We are fortunate to have Dylan commit to CM with his eyes on both academics and the hockey program. Dylan is a prototypical power forward and a rare commodity of having experience playing defense. At 5'10" 195 he brings a physical game and makes his home in the slot antagonizing goalies with the screen and ability to put the puck in the net. Dylan's time with the Maine Wild junior program allowed him to refine his skills. We look forward to having Dylan contribute in a leadership role with his former Wild teammate Jordy Knoren."
