Fighting Saints too much for Mustangs

Auburn, ME - For the second day in a row the CM men had a match at home. This time they hosted College of St. Joeseph of Rutland, VT.

The game had a feverish pace for the first twenty minutes, with both teams playing well in the midfield. St. Joseph was awarded a penalty kick but the shot hit the post and harmlessly rolled out of bounds. The Mustangs had a couple of opportunities and a good chance to score on a free-kick but it was St. Joseph's, Edson Ferrer, who scored the only goal of the first half.

Eleven minutes into the second half Christopher Turco got behind defensive CM player Derek Gosselin (Leeds, ME) to finish a breakaway. That goal ended the scoring and saw a 2-0 win for College of St. Joseph.

Mustang's goalkeeper Zachary Lowe (Mechanic Falls, ME) had six saves in goal while Fighting Saints keeper, Julio Garcia, had one save in the clean sheet.
