Cross Country competes at Husson

Bangor, ME - This past Saturday, the Central Maine Mustangs traveled north to Husson College to compete in the Husson Harrier Invitational. Despite the hot temperature and large race fields, the Mustangs put up strong performances in their season-opening meet.

The lone woman competing for CM this past Saturday, Kristen Carter (Lisbon Falls, ME) finished the 5 kilometer course in 38th place out of 83 competitors. Carter completed the course in 26 minutes and 10 seconds, a seasonal best.

In the men's race, the Mustangs had three competitors complete the 8 kilometer course. Isaac Johnson (East Winthrop, ME) was CM's first finisher in a time of 34 minutes and 43 seconds. Johnson placed 60th. Mark Haskell (Brunswick, ME) followed close behind in 89th place with a time of 38 minutes and 49 seconds. Cody Cunningham (Rumford, ME) rounded out Central Maine's finishers in 102nd place with a time of 43 minutes and 14 seconds.
 
The Central Maine Mustangs return to action on Saturday, September 12th at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine.
