Summer College Aspiration Programs Week 3

Summer College Aspiration Programs Week 3

Auburn, ME - Week 3 of our Summer Aspiration Programs kicked off with our High School Boys Point Guard Clinic. This clinic was deisnged to educate and improve the skills of the point guard. On-court instructions encompassed all aspects of the position and helped any point guard looking to bring their game to the next level. Athletes that attended received individual attention from the CM Men's Basketball coach, Dave Gonyea. Each participant was challenged to work hard and push himself in the skill-intensive program. Skills that were covered during the clinic were: shooting off the dribble, protective dribble moves, aggressive dribbling, screen and roll and how to use it, point guard mentality, passing, footwork, and fast break preparation.

During the week our Esports Coordinator, Christina Wright, organized and ran the Esports Summer Experience program. The Esports arena was open for players to be immersed in the Esports culture while learning group communication and other essential skills. The days included hands on activities focused on Esports technology, how to organize tournaments, learning skills to succeed in different game genres, and careers in Esports.
