Reed powers Mustangs past Owls

Auburn, ME - In game one, Reed had four hits, four RBI and three runs scored as the Mustangs powered past the Owls of University of Maine Presque Isle 18-5. The Mustangs finished with 18 hits. Brandon Gour had three hits and three runs scored. Zach Mann, Garren Post, Colton Frisbie, Stefan Lesco and Avery MacWhinnie were all repeat hitters. MacWhinnie also finsihed with three RBI. 

Shane Sullivan got the start on the mound scattering five hits, striking out five over six innings. Mason Booker pitched the 7th. 

In game two, it was more of Reed with two more hits and two runs scored. Kaleb Thompson had a breakout game going 3-3 with a triple and two singles. Frisbie was the other repeat hitter with two more singles and Booker provided a triple. Garret Harvey was on the bump for game two going six innings, giving up five hits, two runs and striking out seven. Ayden MacWhinnie pitched the 7th. 

The Mustangs improve to 19-10 on the season.

"Today was a good day for us to get back to our winnings," said head coach Ryan Palmer, "After playing a tough schedule and wins not coming our way, today was needed. UMPI is so well coached and we enjoy playing them every year."

The Mustangs are back in action on Wednesday as Thomas College comes to Auburn for a 6pm first pitch.
