Mustangs Win on the road at Great Bay

Portsmouth, NH – Despite coming out flat after a big win at home the evening before, the Mustangs were able to overcome a sloppy start to come back in the second half to defeat Great Bay 71-56 in Portsmouth Wednesday night.

"After practicing for weeks, we really needed to play someone else, said Head Coach Dave Gonyea, "last night was our first game at home and the kids expelled a lot of energy.  Our coaching staff had some concern carrying over that energy to tonight's game.  The first half was a struggle as guys had a hard time getting into it.  Factoring into the scenario, we travel to NHTi this weekend for a tournament and we were thinking the boys may be thinking ahead a bit.  A reality check and refocusing at halftime seemed to help."

Energizer bunny Malik Farley picked his game up in the second half hitting three key three pointers to give the Mustangs a seven-point cushion early.   Cal Horowitz came off the bench the second night in a row and took over the boards ripping down 8 rebounds in 20 minutes played.  Horowitz is quickly gaining a name for himself!

CM got good minutes from the bench with Grant Greene, Alex McFetridge, and Bailey Brown contributing.

Farley led the Mustangs with 19 points, Josh Chery added 18 points with 6 rebounds, Captain Corey David chipped in 10 points.

The Mustangs travel to NHTI Friday and Saturday to play Mass Bay Friday night and Northern Essex Community College on Saturday.
