Randolph, VT – A balanced scoring attack and great team play propelled the Mustangs to a convincing 84-65 win over the Knights of Vermont Tech in Randolph today. 

For the first conference game of the second semester, Coach Gonyea wasn't sure his troops were in the same condition when they left for break. "We brought the kids back a week ago and had three a day practices all week, he stated, to say the kids were hungry for a game is an understatement. One goal was to run ten players in and out keeping fresh bodies on the court. I was really pleased how we shared the ball. With four guys in double figures in the scoring column, VTC could not focus on any one player, especially how they all were shooting." he said. 

CM jumped out early taking a commanding double-digit lead at the seven-minute mark of the first half. Boston Caldwell came out on fire hitting five of his first seven shots to get the Mustangs moving. A first half 7-15 three-point shooting percentage carried the visitors to a 47-32 lead into the locker room at the half. 

VTC came out of the second half with an 8-0 run but after a Mustang time out and defensive adjustment, the Mustangs were able to stop the run and maintain pace for the rest of the game. 

Caldwell led CM with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Cam Pollock played his best game of the year hitting for 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. However, his defensive prowess haunted the Knights all afternoon. Wyatt Hathaway hit for 17 points and Mpore Semuhoza also played his best game of the year hitting for 13 points and took down 5 rebounds. 

The win puts the Mustangs at 10-3 overall and 6-1 in the Yankee conference.
