Men’s Soccer Puts Nine Past Hampshire

Amherst, MA – The Central Maine Community College men's soccer team had eight different players score, while Jeremiah Gomez picked up six assists, in a 9-1 victory on the road against Hampshire College.

Igor Domingues opened the scoring in the fourth minute, and the Mustangs took a 5-0 lead at halftime with additional goals from Matty Waters, Exaucee Namwira, Ivan Domingues, and Justin Violette.

Sam Boynton, Leandro Auger, and Derrick Ofori got in on the goalscoring act in the second half, before Waters rounded things off with his second of the game in the 76th minute. Elmi Hassan pulled one back for the Black Sheep with ten minutes left for the 9-1 final scoreline.

For Violette and Boynton it was their first goals of the season for the Mustangs, while Waters, Namwira, Auger, and Ofori picked up their first career goals in a CMCC uniform. Gomez had a busy day connecting passes in midfield. The sophomore out of Thornton Academy provided six assists inside the first hour of the match.

Central Maine maintains its unbeaten start to the year, and improves to 2-0-0 in YSCC play. The Mustangs next take on USCAA Division I opponent Berkeley College on Sunday afternoon in Auburn.
