Auburn, ME - The Central Maine Community College hockey team has continued it's offseason overhaul of the blue line, as head coach Matt Buotte has announced that Kennett High School product, Trevor Olivier, will be joining the Mustangs defensive corps for the 2019-2020 season. Olivier, one of the highest scoring defenseman in the New Hampshire high school ranks, captained his Kennett team to a playoff berth as a senior and was part of a state championship winning group in 2017.

"Trevor's addition is an exciting one," said Buotte of his new defenseman. "He's a quality kid, which is something we've really prioritized. He's a leader, but he's also a quality defenseman with a little offensive flair. He will fit in extremely nicely with our current group."

Olivier notched 6 goals and 10 assists in 22 games in his senior year with the Eagles. He was also the 2018-19 recipient of Kennett's John Terry award, which is bestowed annually to the player who demonstrates excellence in determination, discipline, leadership, and sportsmanship on and off the ice. 

"I think for someone to be as productive offensively, but still be able to lead a team--it really says a lot," continued Buotte. "I can't wait to get Trevor to campus in the fall and start working with him. He comes from a winning culture and has a winning attitude. I believe he'll make an impact right away. "

Olivier, who will be studying architectural engineering, is looking forward to furthering his hockey career as a Mustang.

"I'm really looking forward to CM," offered the latest Mustangs recruit. "I'm excited to continue my hockey career while learning about architecture and civil engineering."

Olivier believes his game will translate well to the Norway Savings Bank Arena ice.

"I'm very excited," he said. "I'm really looking forward to the fall. I think I can help the team with some grit and leadership, but also chip in offensively."
