Mustangs Ink Robertson as New Softball Coach

Auburn, ME – The Central Maine Athletic Department is pleased to announce Leeds native, Bruce Robertson, has been hired as CM's new softball coach.

In announcing the decision, Athletic Director Dave Gonyea states, "Coach Robertson is the right person at the right time to rebuild our softball program.  He has worked his way up the coaching ranks and has paid his dues.  It takes time and effort to build a solid program and Coach Robertson has the qualities and experience working in feeder systems.  He also has an understanding and appreciation of what it takes to develop talent."

Robertson' coaching experience goes back to 2004 in the Leeds softball system and has worked in area programs for years.  In 2016, he was brought on as the Leavitt High School Varsity Assistant Coach.  He worked with the pitchers, catchers, and out fielders.  He was involved in game decisions and lineups.   That squad was successful going 10-6 and featured two all KVAC conference players.

He has coached his own travel team, the Diamond Warriors, for the past few years.  His team competed in many tournaments in New England.

According to Coach Robertson, "I will use a Larry Bird quote to introduce myself,"  "I've got a theory that if you give 100% all the time, somehow things will work out in the end."

Coach Robertson is Level 4 ASA Certified.  He is first aid, CPR, AED, and Blood Borne Pathogen trained.
