Women's Basketball lands 3 on All-Conference teams

Auburn, ME - After earning their fifth straight Yankee Small College Conference Regular Season Championship, three members of the women's basketball team were recognized by the conference.

Emily Strachan earned 1st Team All-Conference, and finished as the second highest vote getter in the conference. The first-year guard from Lewiston, Maine has had a tremendous season for the Mustangs. Strachan leads the team in scoring (13.5 ppg), which is also good enough for 6th in the conference. Because of CM's depth, Emily actually plays less minutes per game than any other player ranked in the top-12 in points per game. Strachan is also ranked 8th in field goal percentage and 4th in steals. Emily was named the USCAA National Player of the week once, and the Yankee Conference Player of the week twice. She also scored over 30-points in two different games this year.

Eliza Brault, of Ossipee, New Hampshire, was also named 1st Team All-Conference. This marks the second such award for the sophomore guard, after earning the same honor during the 2019-20 season. The former USCAA All-American, has had an up-and-down year, but still scored in double-figures on 7 different ocassions. Brault also recorded double-doubles on two different occasions.

Safena Te Nana-Williams earned 2nd Team All-Conference as a dynamic point guard for the Mustangs. Williams averages 10 points, 5.2 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.8 steals per game. She leads the Yankee Conference in assists per game AND steals per game, while ranking third (and the highest ranked guard), in field goal percentage. Williams has sat out the last several weeks with an injury, but should be back in action this weekend!

Head Women's Basketball Coach, Andrew Morong, commented, "We are thrilled for these three. They are all incredibly hard-working and selfless players, and have been a joy to coach. Each of the three has had their share of peeks and valleys this year, but that comes with playing on such a young team. I know they would credit their teammates for these awards, and would tell anyone that winning is the only thing that matters. With that being said, they should be very proud of how they represented our program and their communities this season."
