Women's Basketball dominant in Cam-Am opener

Auburn, ME - The Mustangs played fast and furious again, stampeding the Seawolves 90-47 in the opening game of the 26th annual Can-Am Tournament. CM jumped out to a 19-4 lead in the first quarter, and put the exclamation point on the win with 30 points in the forth.

Once again, Emily Strachan (Lewiston, ME) led all scorers. This time she finished with 22 points in 23 minutes, while also recording 4 rebounds and 4 steals. Luna Love (Zwolle, Netherlands) played an incredibly efficient game with 15 points and 3 assists, while shooting 62.5% from the floor. Destiny Mora Lopez (The Dalles, OR) scored 15 points off the bench.

Bailey Henderson led the Seawolves with 14 points, while Bryanna MacKenzie tallied 12.

Jade Smedberg (Oxford, ME) recorded a game-high 9 rebounds.

The Mustangs forced 37 turnovers while out-rebounding UNBSJ by +7.

With the win the Mustangs improve to 2-0 on the season and will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday, October 30th at 10:00am. The game will take place in South Portland at Southern Maine Community College against Cegep Champlain-St. Lawrence in the final game of the Can-Am tournament.
