Clippers breeze past Mustangs

Machias, ME - The Lady Mustangs took to the road with only ten players traveling to Machias to play a very strong Clippers team.  The Mustangs spent most of the first half on defense but Elizabeth Cormier (Lewiston, ME) put in her best performance of the year and CM trailed by a score of 3-0 at halftime.   Outside midfielders Bayley Caouette (Buckfield, ME) and Courtney Cotnoir (West Gardiner, ME) spent the full 90 minutes going goal line to goal line showing a very high fitness level.  Megan Duval and Amber Pritchard led the Mustang attack and the defensive trio of Emily Burnham (Bridgton, ME), Bailey Jumper, (Lewiston, ME) and Hannah Blais (Livermore Falls, ME) did a great job repeating turning away the Clipper attack even though they were under pressure the majority of the game.

The Mustangs moved the ball a little better in the second half but some positional mistakes allowed Machias to gain control and the final score  ended up 10-0.  In spite of the final score, goalkeeper Elizabeth Cormier turned in her best performance of the year making diving saves and playing every shot as if the game was still 0-0, earning the praise of both Machias coaches afterwards.
