CMCC Women's Basketball coach, Andrew Morong is excited to announce the addition of one returnee and three newcombers to the 2nd semester roster.  Returning from last years Yankee Conference Championship team is junior, Jaime Swart (Lewiston, ME).  The three newcombers to the program are Chanel Chillers (Kissimmee, FL), Courtney Nielsen (North Yarmouth, ME), and Laura Soohey (Bremen, ME).

Jaime Swart says she came back to the team because:
"There's a lot of pride in wearing the Central Maine jersey and I wanted to put mine on again.  It's really hard to attend school here and not miss playing basketball.  I decided I want to use my eligibility to come back for two more seasons and get to the national tournament again!"

Laura Soohey says:
"I chose to come to CM because the school's atmosphere is very friendly and the class sizes were perfect for me.  Having Coach Morong contact me about playing basketball just made the the decision even easier."

Chanel Chillers added:
"I saw the opportunity to change my life when Coach Morong called, and I wanted to be successful and travel far from home.  I came to CM to play the sport I love!"

Courtney Nielsen says:
"The reason I decided to come to CM was because of the welcoming atmosphere along with the strong Medical Assistiting program.  I was approached by Coach Morong to play basketball and it made me want to come even more.  I am very happy with my decision to attend school here!

"Each of these young women are going to be critical peices for our program as we make our surge into the Yankee Conference Elite 8, looking to win the championship for the second year in a row.

Jaime was an important part of our championship season last year, and I expect that to remain constant.  She has a plethora of experience, having both won and lost a YSCC Championship as a Lady Mustang.

Laura is a true block-to-block post player who has a soft touch and can step out and hit the three.  She will add depth to our front court and take some of the pressure off of Maggie Sabine.

Chanel is a dynamic athlete who has incredible length and a great nose for the ball.  She can score going to basket, from the high post, and from the block.

Courtney is a great defensive player who will fit it nicely with our pressure defense.  She has a high basketball IQ, high energy, and she really gets after it."
