Mustangs with a strong finish at the L/A Bridge Run 5K

Auburn, ME - Central Maine Cross Country runners participated in the final race of the 2019 Triple Crown Series, the L/A Bridge Run 5-Kilometer race on Sunday, August 25, 2019.  

With only a few days into pre-season, cross country teammates competed against over 600 community members from across the state with lots of strong finished. First year Maurice Beaulieu finished with a blazing speed of 18:25, making him 17th overall, with an average mile of 5:55 and placing 2nd overall in his age group (15-19 years old). CM's First Year Mason Darveau wasn't too far behind Maurice placing 32nd place with a time of 20:06, First Year Micheal Baker finished 76th with a time of 22:10, Second year Justin Cabral placed 133rd with a time of 24:54, and Second Year Levi Buck finished in 146th place out of 601 runners with a time of 25:03. 

Overall, the Mustangs were in the top 24% of all finishers in the L/A Bridge Run! Even Head Coach, Kevin Mitchell was able to participate, finishing 28th overall with a time of 19:29 (2nd in his age group for the overall series) and Assistant Coach Niles finished 1 second ahead of Mitchell in 27th place, with a time of 19:28.  

The Mustangs are looking forward to a strong season with their first official competition to be held at the Husson Invitational on Saturday, September 14th.
