Mustangs swept by Seawolves

Auburn, ME - The Central Maine Community College (CMCC) Mustangs hosted the Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Seawolves for a nighttime doubleheader on Tuesday, dropping both games 9-3 and 9-2.

In game one, with an early 2-0 deficit, the Mustangs score two in the bottom of the second inning with an RBI triple by Corey Armstrong (Monmouth, ME), and later a single by freshman Jacob Blanchard (Rumford, ME) which would score Armstrong. The comeback wouldn't last long as the Seawolves scored 3 in the top of the third, and 1 in every remaining inning to hand the Mustangs a 9-3 loss.

Pitcher Cameron Godbois (Rumford, ME) recorded a loss giving up 6 runs on only 3 hits in 4 innings pitched, which included 4 walks and 2 strike outs. Jackson Allen (Whitefield, ME) pitched 3 innings in relief giving up 3 runs on 4 hits.

In game two, the Mustang offense was silent, only producing 3 hits by Tristen Chaine (Bridgton, ME), Corey Armstrong, and Zach Mann (Gray, ME). A 2-run first, 3-run third, and 4-run sixth for the Seawolves proved to be the difference as CM drops the second game 9-2.

Dalton Wing (Lewiston, ME) in his first start of 2019 suffers his first loss giving up 9 runs on 8 hits over 5.1 innings, which included 6 strikeouts. Jackson Allen was hitless in 1.2 innings of relief.

The Mustangs will travel to SMCC on Sunday, 9/22, for a split double header playing Great Bay Community College (GBCC) at 11am, and SMCC at 4pm.
