Men's Soccer blanks NHTI, advances to YSCC title game

Concord, NH - CMCC played NHTI in the YSCC Semifinals this Saturday. The matchup resulted in a 3-0 win for the mustangs advancing them into the championship game Tuesday against SMCC.

Central Maine Started off the game strong  when in the 40th second of the game, Dalton Wing cleverly headed the ball over the keeper to an oncoming Peter Vigna who then finished the ball with his own head and netting the first goal for the mustangs. In Minute 18 Dalton Wing Threaded the needle for a second time finding Garrett Addison who blasted the ball past the NHTI keeper giving the mustangs a 2-0 lead over the Bobcats at the end of the first half.

Going into the second half the mustangs were confident, and their play reflected it and in the 57th minute Manuel Kiambuwa caught an eager NHTI defensive line out of position and placed a stunning ball on the foot of Garrett Addison who precisely finished the ball netting his second goal of the game and the mustangs third overall. This concluded the scoring for the rest of the game. Leaving the mustangs with on the road Tuesday challenging rivals SMCC for the YSCC championship.

After the game Coach Bryan Wallace said, "I'm very pleased with how we played today, our movement was spectacular for the majority of the game, there was the last 15 minutes of the first half where we allowed NHTI to compete with us and we will address that before we face SM on Tuesday."

The Mustangs are on the road Tuesday afternoon playing for the YSCC Championship title against #1 Southern Maine CC (3:00pm).
