Men's Soccer collects USCAA win in Albany

Albany, NY - The Mustangs traveled to Albany, NY to play their first of two matches on the road this weekend. Their first opponent was the Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. The best chance of the first half came when Manuel Kiambuwa beat an outside defender and provided a nice ball across the middle to Garrett Addison who was unlucky and put the ball over the crossbar. Each team saw opportunities but neither team could find success and the score remained 0-0 at the half.

CMCC continued to press in the second half and finally found some success when Manuel Kiambuwa, now playing striker, collected a misplayed ball between two Panther's defenders to calmly find the back of the goal. The rest of the second half was entertaining with more chances from both teams but ultimately the game ended 1-0.

Defensively, Oliver Grant and Alex Thompson played remarkably for the Mustangs. CMCC goalkeeper Austin Wing had four saves while Ryan Hobson also had four saves for Albany.

After the game first-year assistant coach, Zach Lowe said, "It was a fantastic game today, the guys played as well as we have seen all season. It is always good to win the first game in a back-to-back weekend. Now we need to carry this momentum into our match tomorrow at Paul Smith's College."
