Auburn, ME – Head Men's Soccer Coach Bryan Wallace is pleased to announce Evan Blanchard, from Sherborn, Massachusetts's and a graduate of Dover Sherborn High School has committed to CM to play soccer this fall. Evan visited the campus a few times and enjoyed his experience.
Evan answered the following questions below:
CM: Why did you choose CM?
Evan: I chose CM because I really liked the campus and the family like atmosphere.
CM: What did you like about the campus?
Evan: I like it because it feels more like a University and not just a Community College; it's just not as big.
CM: How do you think playing college soccer will defer from your previous experience?
Evan: I will have to step up more and become a better leader for the team.
CM: What are you most looking forward to about attending and playing soccer at CM?
Evan: I'm looking forward to competing at the next level as well as taking my game to the next level.
CM: What do you think you can bring to the team next year?
Evan: I will bring 10 year of club soccer experience along with the flexibility to play multiple positions.
CM: Describe your soccer experience.
Evan: Soccer is one of the most important things in my life. I have been playing since I was a baby and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
CM: What is your biggest strength in soccer?
Evan: My biggest strength in soccer is my field vision, playmaking and my free kicks.
According to Coach Wallace: " Evan brings with him a lot of experience and winning expectations to CM. I was lucky enough to see a club game of his and was immediately impressed by his defensive abilities and vision with the ball in transition. His ability to play several different positions will make him a true asset and I look forward to developing his role. We're all excited to have him with us this fall."
Soccer Achievements:
High school team was 2016 Tri Valley League Champs. 14-2-4, and State Qualifiers the last 4 years
Club soccer team (Abbey Villa) was State Cup Champions in 2016 and are competing in NPL right now.
