Seawolves blank Mustangs in final game of 2017

Auburn, ME - Men's Soccer closed out the season with a home game against SMCC Seawolves. This was the second meeting of the two teams, the first ending in a 0-0 tie. The Seawolves showed up early and just 2:47 into the first half Senai Yenie scored. Yenie factored into a second goal just three minutes later when he provided Gradi Lapika with a nice pass which Lapika finished. The next 40 minutes saw opportunities from both teams, but the score remained 2-0 Seawolves at halftime.

Stepeh Brady scored from a long throw in and Yaroslav Philbrook added to the final with just 3-minutes left in the game bringing the total to 4-0.

After the game Head Men's Soccer Coach, Bryan Wallace said, "It's a disappointing way to finish the season. Going into the match we felt like we had prepared well, but SMCC came out ready and got two quick goals on us. Our guys played with a lot of heart, and after being caught really fought back to make this a competitive game. I want to recognize captains Zach Lowe, Cody Doloff and Nate Foye for their contributions in this game, and really all season."

The Mustangs started the season strong but October was a difficult month and the team just missed making the conference playoffs.
