Men's Soccer routed by St. Joe's (VT)

Auburn, ME - The Mustangs hosted the Yankee Conferences top seed, Fighting Saints from the College of Saint Joseph's Wednesday afternoon. The Fighting Saints proved their worthiness as they outscored CMCC 3-0 in the first half. Alex Andrade scored first after heading a nice cross from Delcio Rocha. Andrade scored again 6-minutes later and Denilson Reyes scored at 36:31 when he recovered a ball on the left side. Just before halftime St. Joseph goalkeeper Maxwell Singh collided with Zach Lowe in the box to give the Mustangs life with a penalty kick. Unfortunately a well struck PK from Lowe hit the post and went wide.

Ten minutes into the second half the league's leading goal scorer Rosyvelt Baessa scored on a great individual effort. Showing that the Mustangs had no answer for him Baessa scored again just 2:20 later. Fiston Mubalama was able to get CMCC on the board with 25 minutes remaining in the game, but any since of momentum was squashed when Gabriel Fiset gave the College of Saint Joseph's a 6-1 lead, and eventually victory.

Jacoby Robinson and Mike Prindiville shared 6 saves for CMCC while Singh had 1 for the Fighting Saints.

The Mustangs fall to 2-3 on the year, and have now lost 2 straight.  They will be back in action Thursday afternoon when they travel to South Portland to take on Southern Maine CC.
