Auburn, ME – The University of Maine at Machias Clippers came out the gate flying last night to stun the home Mustangs 75-70.  CM could not handle the duo of Travonne Thompson (19 points, 19 rebounds) and Dante Ramos (24 points, 10 rebounds) all night. 

The visiting Clippers jumped out to an early lead behind the first half play of Thompson.  CM trailed the entire first half and went to the locker room down 40-31 at the break. 

Machias broke the game open going on a 12-2 run to increase their lead with eight minutes remaining in the contest.  A furious Mustang comeback cut the lead to five points, missed a shot to cut it to three in the last minute but could not get over the deep hump they put themselves in in the first half. 

Josh Chery led CM with 13 points and 5 rebounds. 

This was senior night.  The Mustangs celebrated and recognized graduating seniors Zavier Roman, Levi Lapham, and Akeem Laurie.

The loss puts the Mustangs at 17-4 on the year.
