Machias, ME – Traveling to away games is a challenge for any team.  The long ride, small busses, and tight quarters are not a receipt for success.  At to that, arriving late for a game can be paralyzing for a team, especially in the early going.  Coach Gonyea cost his squad dearly Friday as the Mustangs dropped an 87-82 road game to the University of Maine at Machias.  A well-planned leisurely day turned into panic as the bus arrived in Machias 14 minutes before tipoff.  After enjoying lunch in Bangor and touring the Bangor Mall for two hours, the Mustangs boarded the bus for the short 2-hour ride to Machias.  Except Coach Gonyea misjudged the driving time and well…..CM never recovered!

CM jumped to its only lead of the game at 4-0 and played catch-up the reminder of the game.  Missed shots, a lackluster rebounding effort, and 18 turnovers haunted the visitors the whole night.

In a game of few bright spots, Cody Tozier led CM with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Travonne Thompson, Jesse Gray, and Darius Clark were a three man wrecking crew for Machias.

The Mustangs have a quick turn-a- round hosting Paul Smith College Saturday.
