Hockey adds big-time blue line support

Auburn, ME - The Central Maine Community College hockey team has bolstered it's blue line in a big way, adding four-time all-state defenseman Dylan Campbell to their roster for the 2020-21 season. Campbell, an Auburn native, finished an excellent senior year at Edward Little High School where his Eddies club fell in triple overtime in the state semifinals. Campbell, a physical defenseman with excellent skating abilities, has chosen to stay local and continue his hockey career as a Mustang.

"I'm looking forward to playing," said Campbell, who had five points on the Eddies blue line in his final campaign. "I decided on Central Maine because they have a great trade school. I just want to be a solid defenseman my team can rely on."

After the graduation of Mustangs defensemen Parker Springer, as well as captain and top scorer Shawn Sullivan, there are massive holes to fill on the left side of the Mustangs blue line.  expectations on Campbell are high as the team looks to build on a 19th place finish in the ACHA's Atlantic Region from 2019-20.

"We graduated two top left-handed defenseman," said Mustangs head coach Matt Buotte. "We're really excited about Dylan coming in and adding to our group. He's a big kid, a quality skater, and we're really excited that as local guy he has decided to further his career at Central Maine. He's going to be a great fit here and I couldn't be more excited to announce his commitment to our great fans."

Campbell intends to study HVAC when he reports to campus in the fall.

"It's really exciting to be able to add a player of Dylan's character and quality," continued Buotte. "We're all chomping at the bit to get going."
