Softball lands first 2019 commitment

Auburn, ME – Head Softball Coach, Bruce Robertson, is pleased to announce the signing their first recruit for 2019-20 Season. Abigail Hanson (Wells, ME), from Wells High School has committed to play for the Mustangs next fall.

After touring CM Abigail stated "I chose CM because of the campus. I love the view of Lake Auburn from the dorms. I also like that everything is close to each other and feel it is in a safe area."

Wells Coach, Kevin Foxx, commented, "Abigail has been one of our leaders on the team and always hit in the top of the line-up. In her Junior year she batted .291 with an OBP of .400. Abigail is multiple position player playing both infield and outfield. Abigail is always willing to do what is needed of her including being a pitcher and catcher."

According Coach Robertson, "We are Excited to have Abigail coming to CM. Any player who is unselfish and plays for the name on the front and not the name on the back is the type of player we are looking for."

On her commitment to Central Maine, Abigail mentioned, "I feel College softball will be my hardest challenge. But feel I am up it and any new opportunities college softball will give me while continuing to further my educational goals."

Abigail who is a High Honor Student at Wells also enjoys acting in Theater, and will be enrolled in the Life Sciences Program at CM.
