Softball bolsters 2019 recruiting class

Auburn, ME - Head Softball Coach, Bruce Robertson, is pleased to announce they have signed another recruit for 2019 Season. Maria Dostie, from Winthrop High School has committed to play for the Mustangs next fall.

Maria stated, "I chose CM because of the campus. It's close to home and I can get a great education at an incredible value. I have friends that attend CM and hear nothing but good things about the campus and after seeing it for myself I decided it was for me. It is a smaller school with a big school feel. It has that welcome feeling when you enter the campus."

Winthrop Coach, Chuck Gurney, commented, "No one on our team loves the game and works harder than Maria. She is our Gold Glove Outfielder who gets a jump on the ball better than anyone. In her junior year she batted.260 while stealing every base she attempted not being thrown out once. Maria is always willing to do what is best for the team, it has been a pleasure coaching her. She will make a great addition to CM."

According to Mustangs Head Coach, Bruce Robertson, "We are thrilled to have Maria coming to CM. Maria is a team-first player. She has a great glove while always presenting that positive attitude every dugout needs. She will be a great addition to our growing list of recruits for 2019."

On her commitment to Central Maine, Maria mentioned, "I am really looking forward to advancing my skills in the game that I love while wanting to learn more. I am also looking forward to meeting and playing with new teammates. I am hopeful we can all learn from each other while pushing ourselves to the next level. I am very excited to learn new things and to enter this next stage in my life. I can't wait for the new experiences and opportunities I am going to have. I feel I bring the positive can-do never-give-up attitude my teammates will appreciate.

Maria who is an Honor Student at Winthrop High School also has been recently accepted into the National Honor Society, and will be enrolled in the General Studies program at CM.
