USCAA National Coaches Poll Week 2

Norfolk, VA - The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) has announced the week 2 results for the national coaches poll. Last week both CM men's and women's basketball teams were ranked in the top 10, 

The Lady Mustangs lead the charge for the second straight week, holding the top spot after receiving 299 total points. They are followed by Villa Maria College out of Buffalo, NY. The Mustangs and the Vikings will square off in a neutral-site contest in Albany, NY on Sunday, January 20th. Penn State Beaver rounds out the top 3. The Lady Mustangs maintained their top seed by returning from Thanksgiving break dominating Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (96-39) and Hampshire College (73-18). CM sits at 9-1 overall and will host Paul Smith's College (NY) on Saturday (1:00pm) before heading to 8th ranked UMaine-Machias for a pivotal Yankee Small College Conference match-up.

The men's team maintained their 6th seed for the second straight week after splitting their two games after Thanksgiving break. The Mustangs lost to Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (87-82) before defeating Hampshire College (88-68). The Mustangs are back in action Friday, when they travel to UMaine-Machias (7:00pm), and host Paul Smith's College (NY) on Saturday (3:00pm).
