Women's Basketball gives up late lead, falls to Navy Prep

Newport, RI - After trailing by as many as 15-points in the first half, the Lady Mustangs came roaring back to take a 7-point lead with 2-minutes to play. Unfortuantely, they could not hold off the well-executing Midshipmen of Navy Prep, falling 71-69 in their final game of the first semester.

Poor foul shooting and ball control impacted CM all afternoon. They recorded a season-high 26 turnovers, while shooting just 51.7% from the foul line (15-29). However, they did post 4 players in double-figures including Brooke Reynolds who scored a game-high 21 points to go along with 12 rebounds and 4 steals. Freshman, Ahna McCusker also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Kristen Huntress hit from deep three times, finishing with 14 points, while Alex Bessey chipped in with 10.

With the loss CM falls to 12-2 on the year and remain at 8-0 in the Yankee Conference. When they return from holiday break, they will start the second semester with 5 straight road games, including a trip to Penn State Scranton on January 14th to kick-off the semester.
