Baseball swept by SMCC

South Portland, ME - The CM Baseball team traveled to SMCC for a Yankee Conference double-header on Wednesday, falling in both games (8-1, 3-1).

In game 1, the game was knotted 1-1 through 4-innings before SMCC broke out the bats to the tune of 5 5th inning runs.  After tacking 2 more on in the 6th, SMCC coasted tot he 8-1 win.  The the loss CM committed 5 errors, while giving up 11 hits to the Seawolves.  

In game 2 of the double-header, SMCC scored 3 runs in the first 2 innings which meant the Mustangs would be playing from behind the rest of the contest.  Matthew Tremble knocked in a run in the 5th inning to close the gap to 3-1, but the Mustangs would stall from there, falling in game 2.

With the 2 losses, CM drops to 1-3 this fall and has now lost 3 straight.  They are back in action this weekend when they travel to CCRI for 2 games on Friday, and another double-header on Saturday in Portsmouth, NH against Great Bay CC.
