Auburn, ME - CM athletic director Dave Gonyea is pleased to announce former baseball assistant Joe Sullivan has been promoted to head coach of the Mustangs.  After two years as Coach Yates assistant, Sullivan takes the next natural step taking over the program after Yates departure.

Popular with the players, Sullivan played his high school ball at Lewiston High School where he played multiple positons including pitching. 

After leaving high school, he played for Coach Bessey at the University of Maine at Farmington and turned into a 4-year standout.  He graduated from UMF with a degree in Math and employed immediately by the Oxford Hills School System to teach in their high school. 

His reputation is one of steady leadership, accountability, and direct communication skills.  He understands the game having played it all his life.  As a high school student, CM employed him in the summer camp program all four years.  Coaching at CM is a natural fit, as he understands the culture and goals of the athletic program. 

According to Athletic Director Dave Gonyea, "Joe has been a CM boy since his early days of summer camp.  He attended camp as a fifth grader and continued through the eighth grade.  Upon entering high school, we brought him on as a summer counselor and he was a valued member of the staff and very popular with the kids.  In coaching terms, I love his approach to the game and his ability to hold the players accountable.  I see a bright future with Joe at the helm."
