Halfway through the first half the score was tied and the Mustangs' starters were in foul trouble, but the bench responded in a big way. Forcing several consecutive turnovers, the Lady Mustangs put together a 10-0 run, enroute to a 42-26 halftime lead. Leading the Mustangs in the first half was freshman, Gabby Foy, with 14 of her game-high 22 points (six 3's). Ten different Mustangs found the scoring column in the first half.
CM opened the 2nd half on another 10-0 run putting the game out of reach for good. Susie French sparked the Lady Mustangs early on with 3 steals and 8 points of the 10 point run in the first 90 seconds of the half. French finished the game with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 steals.
Jasmine Ramos played well off the bench, tallying 6 points and pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds. In all, 12 Lady Mustangs scored in a complete team effort. CM shot 43% from the floor and connected on 11 threes.
Marshae Sterling led the Fighting Saints with 14 points.
With the win, CM improves to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the YSCC. The Mustangs will be back in action, tomorrow afternoon as they complete their roadtrip to Vermont by taking on VTC at 12:00pm.
