Briana Grant, a standout guard from Searsport District High School, has committed to play women's basketball for the Lady Mustangs next season.  Briana is the first 2014 recruiting commitment for the women's basketball program.

"We are thrilled that Briana will be joining us next year.  She has faced a lot of adversity during her high school career, from being on a winless team her freshman year to suffering a season-ending injury as a junior.  She has taken these difficult moments and grown into a relentless competitor, which will serve her well at the next level." said Head Coach, Andrew Morong.

There were several factors that impacted Briana's decision to attend CM, "I chose CM because it feels like a family environment.  Once I walked on to the campus, I fell in love.  I've always wanted to go to a smaller school."

On playing at the next level, "I think of myself as a very smart, team player.  I always play with a lot of intensity and I definitely think that will help me out next year.  I love being able to challenge myself, and this will definitely be a big challenge!" said Grant. 

Briana has been a crucial piece in the resurrection of the Searsport girl's basketball program.  The Lady Vikings sit at 12-3 and are contending for the top spot in Class D West. 

The Lady Mustangs are currently 16-1 overall and 9-0 in the YSCC.  CM has won 14 consecutive games and is averaging 82 points and 22 assists per game.
