Former Lady Mustang and one of the all-time CM greats, Maggie Sabine, scored her 1,000th career collegiate point last night.  Sabine, who played 40 career games over 2 seasons at CMCC, is a senior at St. Michael's College in Colchester, VT.  St. Michael's is an NCAA DII school where Sabine plays on full-scholarship.

Sabine has started every game for the Purple Knights since joining the team for the 2013-14 season.  This season she is averaging 12.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, and has helped lead St. Mike's to a record of 6-3 - which surpasses their win total from all of last year.  Last week, Sabine put up 17 points to help lead the Purple Knights to an 69-57 upset of defending national champion, Bentley.

In 40 games at CM, Sabine tallied 657 points (16.4 ppg), and was named a USCAA DII 1st Team All-American, YSCC 1st Team All-Conference, and was twice named the YSCC Tournament MVP.  She helped lead CM to back-to-back YSCC Tournament Championships and USCAA National Tournament Appearances, as well as the 2013 YSCC Regular Season Championship where the team went undefeated in conference play.

CMCC's Head Women's Basketball Coach, Andrew Morong, "We are beyond excited that Maggie has reached this very important career milestone.  This is a milestone that doesn't just happen, it has to be earned and worked for each and every day, and Maggie has certainly done that.  She is a very special person to our women's basketball program, and our school, and to see her and her team have such a successful start to their season is exciting.  I know personal accolades are something Maggie would sacrifice for team success, so I hope she really soaks this one in.  This milestone is indicative of how much she has grown, on and off the court, from her time here at CM until now."
