Men's Soccer Picks Up Crucial Win

In a crucial YSCC matchup, the Mustangs pulled out a hard fought win over the Rams of Unity College.  The second meeting between CMCC and Unity College proved to be an even closer match than the first.

Dylan Mawhinney got the Mustangs out in front early when he scored just two minutes into the match. Jamiel Kidd provided Dalton Burns with a nice pass and Burns found the back of the net to improve CMCC to 2-0. But Unity fought back and two quick goals from Johan Fastberg brought the Unity Rams even at halftime. A hard fought second half saw chances for both teams.

A direct kick in the 89th minute was awarded to CMCC and Mawhinney capitalized, scoring from 25 yards out.   Nick Record and Alex Lyons played well in the midfield for CMCC while Nasir Abdirahman and Eric Martineau were impressive on defense.

CMCC's Zachary Jackson logged seven saves while Unity's Brendan Wallace had six.

The Mustangs are back in action Wednesday, October 9th, in a pivitoal YSCC matchup against rival Souther Maine CC.
