Men's Soccer Bounced From YSCC Tournament

CMCC traveled to South Portland to take on the Seawolves of Southern Maine Community College in the opening round of the YSCC Tournament, with the winner advancing to the YSCC Final Four this weekend in Concord, NH.

The Mustangs struck first when CMCC's Dylan Mawhinney got the team on the scoreboard with an excellent direct kick. Mawhinney and Brandon Morissette were unsuccessful from that point on, both having great chances to add to the lead.  SMCC fought back, eventually taking a 3-1 lead to halftime.

The second half saw chances from both teams but it was SMCC who came out with another goal sealing their win. Eric Martineau, Charles Epinette and co-captain Jeff Wierzbicki played well defensively for CMCC while Zachary Jackson had 6 saves in the game.

After the game Coach Wallace added, "Once we fell behind, we had to take some risks in the second half to get back into the match. SMCC was able to defend us well and they eventually broke through. I'm proud of the way our players finished out the game and the season. They worked hard, win or lose, all season long and conducted themselves appropriately."
