Mustangs Fall in Regular Season Finale

The Clippers of University of Maine-Machias traveled to Auburn to take on CMCC in the last regular season game for the Mustangs.  Like their first matchup, the Clippers proved to be too much for CM, defeating the Mustangs 5-1.

The University of Maine at Machias scored first when Jairo Ulises Castillo scored from a penalty kick. Machias got on the board again when Olaff Alexis Mina volleyed a cross from Craig Kelly.

The Mustangs wouldn't go easily and Dylan Mawhinney played a ball to Brandon Morissette to get the home team back into the game. There were chances from both sides but eventually Machias proved too much and goals from Tyler Troup, Frank Zeba and a second goal from Olaff Alexis Mina solidified the match.

Clippers goalkeeper Luis Herrera had 8 saves while the Mustang's Zachary Jackson had 19.

The Mustangs are back in action Tuesday when they travel to South Portland to take on the Seawolves of SMCC in the opening round of the Yankee Conference Tournament.
